We strongly recommend that you visit our clinic 6 to 8 weeks before travelling so we can assess your immunisation and medication needs.

Our experienced medical team will advise you on the best course of action based on factors such as:

  • Age

  • Medical History e.g. Epilepsy / Pregnancy / Breast feeding etc.

  • Current medication and any allergies

  • Type of accommodation you plan to stay in

  • Local health conditions at your destination(s)

How far in advance do you need to be vaccinated?

This depends on the length of your trip. Ideally, you should visit the clinic 6 weeks before travelling, especially for longer trips. However, if you are travelling to popular tourist destinations or on a short business trip, a visit to a clinic two weeks before would normally suffice.

What type of malaria tablets do you need for my trip?

There are several different types of anti-malaria tablets available and what you need to take will be discussed in detail with a travel health nurse.

This will depend on

  •  the countries you plan to visit

  • Your personal medical circumstances.

  • The length of your stay abroad.

As we are unable to make a full assessment of your circumstances by telephone or email, you must visit our clinic in person for specific information.
